Ephemera presents a photographic series composed of fragments of reality at specific moments in time and space. Habitually carrying a camera, Charlotte Alice Martha records what draws her attention: images that resonate with an indefinable intensity, subtle details. Each photograph emerges from an intuitive gesture, an act of noticing.
The works originate from an acute awareness of transience. They are defined by the understanding that the scenes depicted are subject to change, that what is seen will not remain as it was. In this sense, the series becomes an attempt to hold a moment still, to register a fragment of lived experience as it passes.
These images do not seek formal or narrative coherence, their continuity lies in the singularity of the artist’s gaze. Together, they articulate a personal field of perception, fragments of a reality filtered through her sensibility. As such, they persist beyond their initial capture, inhabiting the background of Dossche’s practice and quietly guiding subsequent works.
